Winter Wildflowers Are Waking || Time to Chase the Bloom!

Thanks to those recent rains and super mild temps (some days kissing 80°F), early winter wildflowers are starting to pop up across the Mojave Desert and Joshua Tree NP. We're talking colorful patches of Verbena, Primrose, Desert Sunflower, Cinchweed, Mustard, and the the elusive Desert Lily… making it perfect for hikes, photos, and that magical desert glow. It's not a full superbloom yet, but the groundwork is there, and things could really take off in the coming weeks.

JTNP - NORTH ENTRANCE 29 PALMS
West JT Gate Vs. North 29 Palms?
The West Entrance (near the town of Joshua Tree town) was closed for construction of the new entrance. This is all very exciting and well overdue, but I can attest that during peak times (and some not peak times), we’ve personally experienced some serious backups there of late. The lines are moving more swiftly, but can still back up to the old entrance location and bathroom stop. It’s no fun waiting when you could be exploring; please stop into a visitor center or go online in advance to secure your PARK PASS.
That's why staying in Twentynine Palms is transformative. The North Entrance is way less crowded, and you roll right in with little hassle.
